Fair use rationale for Image:Yorkregionseal.PNG[edit]

Image:Yorkregionseal.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Please review rating of Port Elgin, Ontario[edit]

I have done a lot of work on this article. It now deserves a revised rating IMHO.

I don't know who does that, but I hope someone will. Peter K Burian (talk) 18:01, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Notice from the Portals WikiProject[edit]

WikiProject Portals is back!

The project was rebooted and completely overhauled on April 17th, 2018. Its goals are to revitalize the entire portal system, make building and maintaining portals easier, support the ongoing improvement of portals and the editors dedicated to this, and design the portals of the future.

As of May 2nd, 2018, membership is at 60 editors, and growing. You are welcome to join us.

There are design initiatives for revitalizing the portals system as a whole, and for improving each component of portals. So far, 2 new dynamic components have been developed: Template:Transclude lead excerpt and Template:Transclude random excerpt.

Tools are provided for building and maintaining portals, including automated portals that update themselves in various ways.

And, if you are bored and would like something to occupy your mind, we have a wonderful task list.

From your friendly neighborhood Portals WikiProject. Hope to see you there. Sincerely,    — The Transhumanist   07:40, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Portal updated[edit]

This portal has been updated and expanded:

  • Overhauled portal with modernized wiki markup using transclusion from articles to display content, which provides readers with current, up-to-date information.
  • Content from the Selected article and Selected biography portal subpages was moved into the Selected article section of the portal.
  • The selected article section has been significantly updated with more new selections.
  • Additional updates, cleanup and layout changes have been performed.
  • Additional articles for the portal can be considered from those available in the table listed below. North America1000 21:19, 3 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Portal status[edit]

This portal appears to be severely neglected. It might be better to do without all the rotten subpages. Nemo 20:51, 4 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Updated[edit]

Think we need a further explanation as to why the updates were reverted.--Moxy 🍁 16:07, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Here's the edit in which I reverted[1]. See the edit summary Revert undiscused change of format; unexplained, sneaky addition of dozens of articles which are neither listed anywhere visible nor disclosed in edit summaries, let alone discussed
Which part of that is unclear to Moxy? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 20:46, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok? So we have zero specifics here. I guess we will move forward guessing what is wrong. Will help with article selection again and as per pass talks we all agree transclution is best.. Lets start with FAs with broad topics. Will sandbox for a bit and bring a list tomorrow.--Moxy 🍁 04:58, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Portal updates restored[edit]

The updates to the portal have been restored (diff). The following articles are presently being displayed in the portal using transclusion from articles. Consensus at VPP has approved using transclusion templates in portals, which provides users with up-to-date content that is verbatim to that in articles.
